Chon Ji


Starting Position: Parallel Ready Stance  - L19

Chun-Ji means "The Heaven and the Earth". It is, in the Orient, interpreted as the creation of the world or the beginning of human history; therefore, it is the initial pattern played by the beginner. This pattern consists of two similiar parts; one to represent the Heaven and the other the Earth.


1) Turn 90 degrees to the left and left low block in a left front stance.
2) Stepping forward with the right foot and right punch in a right front stance.
3) Turn 180 degrees to the right and right low block in a right front stance.
4) Stepping forward left punch in a left front stance.
5) Turn 90 degrees to the left and left low block in a left front stance.
6) Stepping forward right punch in a right front stance.
7) Turn 180 degrees to the right and right low block in a right front stance.
8) Stepping forward left punch in a left front stance.
9) Turn 90 degrees to the left and left inner forearm block in a Left "L" stance.
10) Stepping forward right punch in a right front stance.
11) Turn 180 degrees to the right and right inner forearm block in a Right "L" stance.
12) Stepping forward left punch in a left front stance.
13) Turn 90 degrees to the left and left inner forearm block in a Left "L" stance.
14) Stepping forward right punch in a right front stance.
15) Turn 180 degrees to the right and right inner forearm block in a Right "L" stance.
16) Stepping forward left punch in a left front stance.
17) Stepping forward right punch in a right front stance, Kiop.
18) Stepping back into a left front stance left punch.
19) Stepping back into a right front stance right punch.
