Joong Gun


Starting Position: Closed "B" Ready Stance  - L32

Joong Gun: Named after the patriot Ahn Joong-Gun who assinated Hiro-Bumi Ito, the first japenese governor-general of Korea, known as the man who played the leading part in the Korea-Japan merger. There are 32 moves in this pattern to represent Mr. Ahn's age when he was executed at Lui-Shung prison (1910).

1) Turn 90 degrees to the left and left ridge hand block in a Left "L" stance.
2) Left front kick.
3) Step forward and right high palm heel in a right rear stance.
4) Turn 180 degrees to the right and right ridge hand block in a Right "L" stance.
5) Right front kick.
6) Step forward and left high palm heel block in a left cat stance.
7) Turn 90 degrees to the left and double knife hand block in a Left "L" stance.
8) Shift the left foot to a front stance and right high elbow strike.
9) Step forward and double knife hand block in a Right "L" stance.
10) Shift the right foot to a right front stance and left high elbow strike.
11) Step forward and twin vertical punch in a left front stance.
12) Step forward and twin up-set punch in a right front stance, Kiop.
13) Turn 180 degrees to the left and X-block high in a left front stance.
14) Turn 90 degrees to the left and left high backfist in a Left "L" stance.
15) Stay in a back stance and left wrist release.
16) Shift forward and right face punch in a left front stance.
17) Step left foot to right foot, then turn 180 degrees to the right and right high backfist in a Right "L" stance.
18) Stay in a back stance and right wrist release.
19) Shift forward and left face punch in a right front stance.
20) Step right foot to left foot, then turn 90 degrees to the left and sung-su block in a left front stance.
21) Shift left foot to a Left "L" stance and left punch.
22) Right turning side kick.
23) Step forward and sung-su block in a right front stance.
24) Shift right foot into a Right "L" stance and right punch.
25) Left turning side kick.
26) Step forward and double guarding block in a Left "L" stance.
27) Shift forward and double palm heel block in a left front stance.
28) Step forward and double guarding block in a Right "L" stance.
29) Shift forward and double palm heel block in a right front stance.
30) Bring left foot to right foot, turn 90 degrees to the left and right hook punch in a closed stance.
31) Step forward and double hooking block in a Right "L" stance.
32) Bring right foot to left foot, turn 180 degrees to the left and double hooking block in a Left "L" stance, Kiop.
