Yong Gom


Starting Position: Parallel Ready Stance  - L40

Yong Gom: Means "Inspiration." With goals firmly in mind, the students must also learn to inspire themselves into action, as they develop a sense of self-worth. Without this, one may never strive for success as they may feel that they do not deserve the rewards that accompany achievement.

1. Step R foot back into L back stance – L inner forearm block.
2. Step L foot back into R back stance – R inward block.
3. Shift R foot to front stance – L punch
4. L round kick step down into L back stance.
5. Stationary – L knifehand.
6. Shift L foot to front stance – R punch.
7. R round kick step down into R back stance.
8. Stationary – R knifehand
9. Shift R foot to R front stance – L punch.
10. Stationary – R punch.
11. Swing R foot over and turn to face opposite direction in L back stance
    – guarding blocks.
12. Step L foot back into R back stance – R inner forearm block.
13. Step R boot back into L back stance – L inward block.
14. Shift L foot to front stance – R punch.
15. R round kick step down into R back stance.
16. Stationary – R knifehand.
17. Shift R foot to R front stance – L Punch.
18. L round kick step down to L back stance 19. Stationary – L knifehand.
20. Shift L foot to L front stance – R punch.
21. Stationary – L punch.
22. Step through to a L back stance – L low block and R backfist.
23. Shift L foot to L front stance – R inward block.
24. Stationary – L punch.
25. L spin hookkick step down to a middle stance.
26. Stationary – L backfist.
27. Step forward to a parallel stance – R punch.
28. Stationary – L punch
29. Step back with L foot to R back stance – R low block and L backfist.
30. Shift R foot to R front stance – L inward block.
31. Stationary – R punch.
32. R spin hookkick step down to middle stance.
33. Stationary – R backfist.
34. Step forward to parallel stance – L punch.
35. Stationary – R punch.
36. Step R foot back to a L back stance – double knifehand block.
37. Step L foot through to L front stance – R scoop block.
38. Stationary – L punch.
39. Step L foot to right, R side kick step down to R front stance.
40. Stationary – L punch. Ki-Hap
